The first time you light it
- Let it melt to the edgeOn the first burn, leave it lit until the whole top has melted, roughly an hour for every inch across. It stops the candle tunnelling.
- Trim the wickTo about 5mm before each lighting. A long wick smokes.
- Four hours at mostThen blow it out and let it cool.
- Never leave itKeep it in sight, on a flat surface, away from curtains, draughts, children and pets.
- Stop near the bottomPut it out when about 1cm of wax is left in the jar.
