Why resin takes time

Resin is mixed, coloured and poured, often in layers, with each layer left to set before the next. A piece feels hard within a day or two but isn't fully cured, and safe to use, for several days after that.

So a set of coasters is not a next-day job. Alison will give you a date when she quotes, and it helps to ask a few weeks before you need it.

Looking after resin

Heat: Fine under a mug of tea. Not for hot pans straight off the hob.
Cleaning: Wipe with a damp cloth and a little washing-up liquid. Not the dishwasher.
Sunlight: Years in a sunny window can yellow clear resin. Out of direct sun, it keeps its colour.
